On June 4th, 2024, the performers and volunteers of the Fiato Foundation hosted their premiere Benefit Concert, where various accomplished musicians showcased their talents to a captivated audience, demonstrating through their dedication the euphoria that accompanies music. The night opened with Dr. Lorenzo Sanchez, a renowned pianist and teacher, who performed a piece that epitomized the pinnacle of musical artistry.

Following Dr. Sanchez, Caleb Tsai presented a video explaining the mission of the Fiato Foundation and the steps taken by its members to reach new heights, ultimately contributing to the spread of music and the joy it brings. Next, Symai Jones expertly performed “Für Elise” on the piano, her delicate touch reflecting her profound love for music. Andrew Yan continued with another piano piece, playing a nocturne by Chopin, hoping to convey the loving embrace that music offers.

Nicholas King, representing Olive Crest, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, delivered a heartwarming presentation on the importance of children's well-being. Adding a vocal twist to the evening, a small group from El Segundo’s choir—Chiara Del Rio-Ascolese, Giulia Filippi, Mira Kelly Villa, Ashlyn Sze, and Julian Fajardo—demonstrated their vocal prowess with renditions of “Go the Distance'' from Hercules and “Carrickfergus” by Celtic Woman.

Jake Nguyen, a young piano prodigy, impressed the audience with his performance of one of Bach's most challenging concertos, showcasing his exceptional skill. Mrs. Darbeau, the strings director of the El Segundo Unified School District and a skilled violinist, gave the audience a glimpse of the peak skill musicians can attain with her rendition of “Meditation from Thaïs” by Jules Massenet.

To close the night, Dr. Lorenzo Sanchez returned to the stage to perform “Clair de Lune,” one of the most renowned pieces worldwide, celebrated for its beauty and emotion. Finally, Giulia Filippi, one of the choir singers, performed “How Could I Ever Know,” demonstrating the flexibility of her singing and the dedication she holds towards her talent.

The evening was a resounding success, collecting money to provide to Olive Crest and its beliefs, where all proceeds went. Overall, the event highlighted the transformative power of music and the Fiato Foundation’s commitment to fostering musical appreciation and joy.
